Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Zurich — How does HBOT work?
In our Oxyhelp pressure chamber, you breathe up to 97% pure oxygen at an overpressure of 1.5 to 2.0 bar. This causes oxygen to dissolve directly in the blood plasma and tissue — reaching areas that are barely supplied through normal blood circulation. The oxygen concentration in the tissue rises to many times the normal value. A session lasts 70 to 90 minutes.
HBOT Zurich — Wound healing & post-operative recovery
Oxygen is the most important raw material for cell repair. HBOT supplies poorly perfused tissue with targeted oxygen, stimulates the formation of new blood vessels and activates the body’s own stem cells. After operations, recovery time is noticeably shortened — swelling subsides faster and healing sets in earlier.
Sports injuries & recovery
For muscle strains, ligament injuries or intense training loads, HBOT accelerates lactate breakdown, reduces oxidative stress and promotes tissue regeneration. Less downtime, faster return to full performance.
Longevity & Anti-Aging
Studies show that regular HBOT treatments can extend telomere length and reduce senescent cells — both direct markers of biological cell age. At the same time, mitochondrial function improves, which translates into more energy and mental clarity.
Further applications
HBOT is used as a complementary treatment for: immune system strengthening, burnout & chronic fatigue, neurological rehabilitation, tinnitus, sudden hearing loss and chronic inflammatory conditions.
